What is the Subaru Love Promise?

Subaru and our retailers believe in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people. This is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world.

The Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment

We believe in being a positive force in something bigger. And it all starts right here in our community. Not just by our donations, but by our actions.

That's why we stay true to our Love Promise Community Commitment by partnering with a wide variety of community nonprofits and charities.

Every year, we join hands with our owners in the "Share the Love" event, giving back to our community-a community that's given so much to us.

So, every day, we strive to ensure our love is felt not just by our customers, but by all in our community. We do this because we feel it is the right thing to do.

We are proud to participate in the Love Promise Community Commitment. We're grateful, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve and support the causes and passions that are closest to our hearts, right here in our neighborhood.

All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

How is Mike Brown Subaru dedicated locally to the Love Promise?

We (Mike and Janet) are new to the area and truly want to be involved in the community and make a difference. There are lots of things we will be involved in, however education will be a top priority. We are strong supporters of education and recognize the impact of having access to a great education and great teachers. We both grew up in Wilkesboro, NC and therefore understand the challenges that parents, children and educators face in rural areas. Janet's mother, Kate Greer, grew up in Watauga County and was the youngest of 11 children. She and her ten siblings all went on to post high school education, something very much unheard of in those days. While most of this was a result of their parents' push for continued education, each of them have all referenced a teacher or teachers who made a lasting impression on them and further inspired them to pursue their education. We also understand and recognize the importance of having access to committed educators to deliver a great learning experience. We both want to help the county by being involved, and education is an area in which we want to make a difference. We currently provide a full scholarship to the College of Business at Appalachian State University; once the current recipient rotates off the scholarship we will be designating the fund for a recipient from our dealership's market, consisting of Mitchell, Yancey, Avery and McDowell Counties. For the current calendar year, we have two interns working at the dealership, one from Mitchell County and one from Catwaba County. Our intent is to continue to place two interns each year, with a hope one or both will be from our market area and upon graduation will make Mike Brown Subaru of Spruce Pine their first job upon graduation.

Foster Kids Program  –  lisa c

Foster Kids Program

Mike Brown Subaru of Spruce Pine is blessing the foster kids in our county through very generous monthly donations that are dontated from a portion of the salesmen's checks and a match from the owners. We all know money doesn't buy happiness but this money has bought warm clothes, shoes and Christmas presents for a lot of kids. These donations give kids a little bit more happiness in their lives. The business is not asking for any recognition or attribution for this kindness but if we talk about their generosity to the right people their kindness will be returned with a successful business for years and decades to come. I have witnessed that they are giving with a happy heart and wanted to say thank you for all of their support. Once I heard that "what is in the well always comes up in the bucket" and "the bucket" at Mike Brown's business is overflowing with generosity and genuine regard for our kiddos.
